Install Deckary from Microsoft AppSource, open the add-in in Word, and sign in. Keep the target document open while the agent runs. The Deckary pane detects Word as the active host and exposes document-specific reading, writing, formatting, review, and comment tools.
Install and open Deckary#
- Begin from Deckary's Office add-in install page, or search for Deckary in Word's Add-ins menu.
- Add Deckary to Office.
- Open the document you want to work on.
- Launch Deckary from Home → Add-ins and sign in.
- Open the Word AI agent in the Deckary pane.
The same Office add-in supports PowerPoint, Excel, and Word. Each application exposes only the tools that can operate on its own live document state.
Start with a bounded task#
Select text when the task is specifically about that passage. For a document-wide task, identify the section, style, or phrase that should anchor the change.
Review the executive summary for clarity and unsupported claims. Add comments
where a claim needs evidence, but do not rewrite the text yet.
For a replacement, be explicit about whether the structure may change:
Replace the selected whole paragraphs with one heading and three concise
recommendations. Preserve the meaning and use native Word structure.
Understand selection protection#
Deckary fingerprints the current selection before a selection-based write. If you move the cursor or change the selection while the agent is preparing the operation, the stale mutation is rejected. Targeted paragraph and section references follow the same current-run authority model.
For a high-risk or destructive replacement, the agent may ask for explicit approval. Review the target and proposed scope before allowing it.
