Deckary Word documentation

Deckary's Word AI agent works inside the document open in Microsoft Word. It can read selected or targeted content, draft native headings and paragraphs, revise text, apply styles and formatting, review document structure, and add comments. Document reads and writes execute locally through the Office add-in.

Native Word output#

Generated sections use native Word paragraphs, headings, lists, and formatted runs. Deckary does not insert Markdown characters to imitate document structure. You can continue editing the result with normal Word controls after the agent finishes.

The agent can work from the current selection, a document section, search results, or explicit paragraph references. Target references and selection fingerprints are valid only for the current run and document state; they are not durable guesses about where text will remain later.

Document safety#

Every mutation is bound to the active Word document identity. Destructive replacements follow an approval path, and a changed or ambiguous target blocks the edit. For targeted edits, the agent must first observe the search or read result, then issue the write in a later reasoning step.

After writing, Deckary observes the host result before the agent can claim completion. Structured edits can also be followed by deterministic document-structure verification.
