Deckary Word documentation

Deckary's Word AI agent works inside the document open in Microsoft Word. It can read the outline, sections and exact text, draft native headings, paragraphs, lists and tables, revise text, apply styles and formatting, and add comments, optionally as tracked changes. Document reads and writes execute locally through the Office add-in.

Native Word output#

Generated sections use native Word paragraphs, headings, lists, and formatted runs. Deckary does not insert Markdown characters to imitate document structure. You can continue editing the result with normal Word controls after the agent finishes.

The agent works from handles that a read returned: blocks (paragraphs, list items and tables), heading sections, tables and comments. A handle names the same block for as long as that block exists, so it never drifts to other text after an edit elsewhere.

Document safety#

Every edit is one bounded program bound to the active document and to the document version the agent last read. Deckary checks the whole program against the current document before changing anything, so a missing passage, an unknown style or a changed document stops the edit with no change. Deleting, replacing or rewriting existing content asks for your approval first.

After writing, Deckary reads the affected blocks back with fresh handles before the agent can claim completion. The same program and checks serve an external MCP agent when you share the document.
