Deckary PowerPoint documentation
Set up Deckary in PowerPoint, build and revise native slides with AI, create editable charts, and connect chart data from Excel.

Deckary works inside Microsoft PowerPoint and edits the presentation that is open in the desktop app. It can create or revise native slides, work from source material, and build editable charts and tables. PowerPoint remains the source of truth, and every document change is executed by the Deckary add-in through Office.

What stays editable#
Deckary's PowerPoint workflow creates Office-native slide content. Text, shapes, connectors, tables, and supported charts remain in the PowerPoint file rather than becoming a single flattened image. Most Deckary chart types are native PowerPoint charts with an embedded Excel workbook; Gantt charts are composed from PowerPoint shapes.
The AI agent can create a new slide, revise an existing slide, or replace a slide while preserving the surrounding presentation. Multi-slide work is completed sequentially so each committed slide can be read back and reviewed before the next one is authored.
How document safety works#
The browser service streams model output and prepares tool calls, but it does not pretend to own the open presentation. The add-in verifies the current PowerPoint state before it applies a change and reads the result back afterward. If the deck changed while a write was being prepared, the stale request is rejected instead of being applied to a different state.
Source material and web research are attached to the run as evidence. When a slide uses a web source, Deckary keeps the source reference with the authored content and can add a source footer.
